Jessica Bundschuh, director

Jessica Bundschuh

"Over the course of earning a Ph.D. in creative writing and a Fulbright Lecture Award, I have read many books. What I remember, even while dozing in Paradise Lost, are the meals: Eden's fresh fruit for Milton, raisin pudding for Charles Dickens, and chocolate for breakfast for Jane Austen. No surprise that after four years in Stuttgart, I brought home the tradition of coffee and plum pie on Saturday afternoon." (Seen here after reading a delicious passage about puttanesca.)

Ross Grant, creative director

Ross Grant

"At age 1, I received an honorary law degree from Colorado University (honest). I later studied philosophy and classics, but found them low in saturated fats. As a journalist, I've been published in the Boston Globe, Baltimore Sun, Yankee magazine and the New York Times syndicate. I’m a returned Peace Corps volunteer, who spent two years in a dusty South African village near the Kalahari Desert and the DeBeers Diamond Mine." (Shown here looking for lions under Mt. Kilimanjaro.)

Tilman Weigele, copywriter

Tilman Weigele

Tilman has been a professional writer since 1995. He started as a freelance ad writer and a film critic for the regional newspaper Stuttgarter Nachrichten. With an MA in German and American literature, you would probably expect Tilman to be a bookworm. Truth is, you're more likely to find him watching American television shows on DVD. "I feel advertising is much closer to drama than prose," Tilman says. "You don’t have time for lengthy expositions. You have to get straight to the point and capture your audience’s attention with the first line!" After having worked for numerous ad agencies in Stuttgart, he started his own company, tilltoll text & konzept, and collaborates with Fluency Creative on transatlantic writing and translation projects.

Viola Stoehr, cross-cultural trainer

Viola Stoehr

When Viola grew up in a Bavarian village in the 70s, even meeting children from the city was an intercultural experience for her. After finishing a Master's degree in English and Sociology, she has worked as an intercultural trainer for companies like DaimlerChrysler and an adviser for international students at the University of Stuttgart. As cross-cultural coach, she collaborates with Fluency Creative in preparing German employees for their departure for the US and in welcoming European-bound American employees once they arrive in Germany.
